Scientific Symposium – Tallinn 2016

Full report from the symposium can be found here.

Informed by, and building on, the discussions in Durban we convened a symposium in Tallinn, Estonia in October 2016 entitled ‘Data Driven Decision Making to Control the HIV Epidemic – Moving to and Beyond 2020’.  The symposium brought together approximately fifty key thought leaders in HIV-related data-driven research, including those from normative bodies, funding organisations, and in-country programmes.

During the two-day symposium, the challenges of improving the collation, collection and use of strategic HIV information to strengthen prevention, testing and treatment efforts were considered and discussed in relation to the four questions presented in our statement of purpose. From these discussions, the Tallinn symposium participants identified priorities for action to realise the vision of data-driven decision making for HIV programmes and released this report.
